Too often we think about emotions and we don’t keep them in check. This is the same as having negative thoughts surface in your mind, and over time, these negative thoughts run wild to become recurrent, eventually constantly affecting our mood, in the long term negatively affecting our outlook on life and how our countenance appears downcast to others. This may lead to others distancing themselves from you due to your external appearance, like a constant frown or scowl on your face. This adversely affects our personal relationships as others may view you negatively as your face mirrors the negative emotions inside.

Another culprit of a negative mind is when you are drifting in life and have no discernible goal or aim to work towards. Thats when feelings of despondency start to manifest and spiral into an uncontrollable state and again, your face mirrors how glum you feel.

How do we circumvent this? We can plant positivity in our lives. We deliberately create moments to light up our dour moods and spread a smile on our faces. This intentional happiness is crucial to a healthy mindset and this must be nurtured into a habit so that we can lead happy balanced lives. We must counter our negativity with a cultured positivity.

On the one hand, keeping what we feel on a tight leash makes us emotionally bereft. It is not a good practice to suppress your feelings as our human side requires expression of our feelings. What is a good way is to introduce positivity into our thinking and mindset gradually so that our minds are attuned to having feelings of joy, love, happiness, gratitude, and wellbeing. To have more positivity introduced to our minds gradually makes us emotionally healthier.
